More than 10,000 people have now died from COVID-19 in the United States, according to Reuters.
The US has the third-highest number of reported deaths behind Spain (13,055) and Italy (16,523).
There will be plenty of attention on the US this week.
At the weekend US surgeon general Jerome Adams said the coming seven days would be “the hardest and the saddest of most Americans’ lives.”
“This is going to be our Pearl Harbor moment, our 9/11 moment, only it’s not going to be localised,” he said.
